Team News July 4, 2002
Last week was pretty good for us I wanted to qualify for the twin 15 feature that was my first goal. We accomplished the first goal I started 4th in heat was having major restart problems car was running to "rich" and was bogging car down on restarts. I held of the field to finish 6th. SO we had the lower jets on the car and change plugs and get her cleaned up for the first 15 lap feature I was starting 18th. The cool thing is we got to throw the power ball and do some interviews on the front stretch. I had always dreamed of standing on the front stretch in the big block class talking as a potential threat to win the race. "keyword" (dreamed). Anyhow it was really fun and IM sure all the drivers and teams really enjoys the night and I would like to thank Bridgeport for giving us the opportunity to be the top class for the evening. Back to business, in the first 15 lap feature I was bad just went backwards ended up 19th. Did get in a wreck in the early laps of the race but only bent steering arm and some sheet metal. In the 2nd feature we had a wreck on the first lap and I went in and tested my crew members we did 3 tire change to change compounds got back out there with time to spare and on the restart I was fast passing cars moving up and think I was recorded to be up to 10th then with about 4 or 5 to go everyone moves up on the race track to get the bite and I stay low and spin my wheels and get passed ended up 13th. But still had fun didn't really wreck anything and IM learning more and more. After all this learning one day IM gonna be good racer "hopefully". Anyhow crew looks happy guess they see me improving and also word in the shop the 8jr will be hitting race track very soon. Keep your eyes peeled he will be fast probably faster then me.
